Prior to founding Sussex Garden Co., my career was rooted in the creative industries. I spent many years owning my own restaurant and working as a Head Chef, where I developed a deep appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. During this time, I became increasingly aware of the lack of truly high-quality, seasonal ingredients available both commercially and domestically. I firmly believe that a perfectly grown organic tomato can elevate a dish entirely.

As anyone who has worked in professional kitchens will know, the role of a chef comes with intense heat, long hours, and high levels of pressure. Away from the kitchen, I found balance and calm in the garden. It’s true what they say—a garden really is an oasis for the mind. A thoughtfully designed and well-maintained garden engages all the senses and creates a sense of peace and relaxation.

This connection with nature ultimately led to the career shift that became Sussex Garden Co. While I still love operating a high intensity food service, I find even greater satisfaction in using ingredients grown in my own garden. Before launching the company, I gained extensive hands-on experience working within the landscaping industry, learning first-hand what separates a good landscaper from a great one.

Today, Sussex Garden Co. is supported by a dedicated team who share the same values, work ethic, and attention to detail. Together, we give 100% to every project, using quality materials and considered design to create breathtaking outdoor spaces.

Throughout the year, we take on a wide range of projects—from hedge trimming and regular maintenance for smaller gardens to complete garden transformations involving both soft and hard landscaping, as well as bespoke structures designed to feel like a natural extension of the home. We work across both domestic and commercial projects, ensuring no two jobs are ever the same.
